It's Only Temporary

These days I'm reminded of a saying my Dad mentioned growing up. “It's only temporary”. While it's a simple saying, it provides powerful motivation for what someone is going through during a challenging time.

If you've been around here for a bit, you might have noticed my motivation Monday posts on social media spurred the idea of Monday blog posts. We can all use some positive motivation, and I feel one of my callings in life is to help lift others up.

So, if you are going through a time that feels challenging such as:

  • When your babies cry all night

  • The days that seem endless during the summer or holiday breaks

  • Sibling squabbles that echo in the house

  • When a family member is injured and needs extra help

  • Kids who steal your favorite food…pillow…snack…etc

  • The times you have to remind your spouse, even when it's on the family calendar

  • Realizing when you are stretched too thin, and knowing that asking for help seems like defeat

  • Walking into a room and seeing such a mess you don't know where to start

  • Negotiating with your kids to eat nutritiously

  • Juggling your duties between mom, wife, home, and work

Ask yourself: If this is only temporary, how can I take something from this experience, and what can it be?

Remember you only get around 18 ish years as a full-time family unit. Then, you hopefully have enlightened your kids enough to spread their wings and soar. So, soak up what you can, and during challenges, rise like a Phoenix from the ashes when it's all done.

Until next time, enjoy the journey!
